Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (IATA: CGK, ICAO: WII) is Indonesia's main gate from the international world. Soekarno-Hatta Airport plays an important role for Indonesia's image. The Airport was named after the national heroes, who are also the First President and Vice President of Indonesia; they are Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta.

The Airport is often called as Cengkareng because it is located in Cengkareng.

  • 1980

    The work was begun in 4 years costs. Sainraptel Brice, SAE, Colas together with PT Waskita Karya acted as the developers.

  • 1984

    Started operating as replacement of the Kemayoran Airport (domestic flight) in Central Jakarta and Halim Perdana Kusuma in East Jakarta.

  • 1992

    Terminal 2 started operating

  • 1993

    Its status was changed from Company into Angkasa Pura II, Ltd.

  • 2009

    Terminal 3 started operating

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Facility

Area : 18 km² Landing Strip: 2 parallel landing strips which are separated by 2 taxiways along 2400 m
Soekarno-Hatta Airport has 4 terminals:

  1. Terminal 1 is specialized for domestic flight
  2. Terminal 2 is specialized for international flight
  3. Terminal 3 is temporarily specialized for domestic flight.
  4. Freight Terminal

Terminal 1 and 2 consist of 3 sub-terminals, they are: 1 A, B, C, and also, 2 D, E and F.

Baggage claim facility: 30 counters,
Gate facility: 42 counters.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport Concept:

One of the main characteristics of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the local architecture with tropical garden in between the waiting rooms. The airport was designed by France architect Paul Andreu who designed Charles de Gaule Airport, Paris also.
